Computer Review - Good Computers Currently On The Market

This is a little long winded but I hope it covers most bases. It is my opinion on new computers based on recent experience.

Notebooks are nicely portable and very powerful these days, however none of them have great battery life, I recommend keeping them plugged into the wall at all times when working to maximize performance, regardless of brand. People say 2 gigs of ram (memory) is money well spent with Vista, all the new computers come with Vista installed and going back to XP is difficult at best. There are many cheap laptops (notebook) computers on the market, many of them barely run vista let alone the other software one would need for actual tasks. Not much of a bargain.

A notebook computer that is popular lately is HP -

The HP Pavilion DV2710US 14.1" Entertainment Laptop (AMD Turion 64 X 2 Dual Core TL-60 Processor, 2 or 3 GB RAM (memory) models, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium) - Good reviews, the extra ram and powerful processor will keep up with vista and multitasking. The price is good! The screen a little smaller.Weighs 5.25 pounds. Hp support offers more help than most other companies.

See more info in the link below.

Hp with 2 or 3 gigs of ram 14.1 inch screen

The next model up. About $100 more.

HP Pavilion DV6555US Entertainment 15.4 inch Notebook PC - An inch bigger screen, better processor, 2 gigs of ram, comes with Microsoft works and other programs one might need.
6.14 lbs. Good hp support and they are selling quickly.

The comparable Hp desktop with the Amd chip (runs a little hotter) larger hard drive - No monitor.
$649.99

HP Pavilion A6330F Desktop PC (AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core 5600+ Processor, 3 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard Drive,No Monitor

I have the 24" version of this HP monitor, I love it!
HP W2007 20" Wide LCD Monitor Display

Samsung is also making very good monitors at this point. Driven largely by the LCD tv Market. 20" and 19" models below.

I believe Toshiba notebooks are very reliable, college kids love them. They are fast and look very nice.

Toshiba Satellite A205-S6810 15.4" Laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 Processor, 3 GB RAM, 200 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium) Onyx Blue -
The Intel chips run cooler than Amd and are very stable, they are replacing the Amd market lately. The screen is 15.4, and with 3 gigs of ram it should be very fast and handle Vista with no problem. Also comes in a 2 gig of ram, smaller hard drive, version for about $200 less.
Includes Microsoft works 9.0 weighs 6 pounds, but worth the half pound in features.
See info, options, and price below. I don't believe they are in the desktop market currently.

Toshiba Satellite -15.4 inch screen, 3 gigs of ram! Good connection options. Similar in price to the smaller Hp.

I personally feel Toshiba makes a good notebook, I've had two of them.

Acer is selling very well lately, they get good reviews , Still the top selling desktop in this price range currently.
Acer Aspire Desktop PC (AMD Athlon 64X2 Processor 5200+, 3 GB RAM, Huge 500GB Hard Drive - $599.99 No monitor

- Package With Acer 22" Monitor $818.24

Acer 1600 X 1050 20" Wide LCD Monitor $189.99

Wonderful support . However there is a nice deal, on this very powerful desktop currently.

Gateway GT5654 Desktop PC - $549.99 - AMD 64 x2 with 3 GB ram and huge hard drive. No monitor.

Printers? - Very simple, I've always put my trust in Canon. The Pixma Mp all in one series is great! I have the 530.

This link will take you to the Mp 530, if you scroll to the "What Do Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item?" You will see the 530, the 830 and the HP models which I hear are also very good. I happen to think the canon print quality is nicer but it's a matter of opinion. I believe the feed is built for 35 pages. If more are required please let me know.
